Complete Dentures
Our dentures are custom made and fit to your mouth. With our specialized and highly trained dental technician we can restore your smile to what it once was, or create a new one for you. Types of dentures:
- Conventional. This full removable denture is made and placed in your mouth after the remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed, which may take several months. This type of denture is also made to replace an existing denture that is worn or broken.
- Immediate. This removable denture is inserted on the same day that any remaining teeth are removed. You do not need to be without teeth during the healing period, but may need to have the denture relined or remade after your jaw has healed.
- Overdenture. Sometimes some of your teeth can be saved to preserve your jawbone and provide stability and support for the denture. An overdenture fits over a small number of remaining natural teeth after they have been prepared. Implants can also serve this same function (see implant retained denture)Regular checkups are still needed – even with dentures.
We encourage all patients, even those with complete dentures, to have regular dental check-ups so we can ensure proper fit and function of their dentures as well as examine their mouths for any signs of oral cancer.
